Smart Company Project: Travi
Travi vzw is the training fund for the Belgian temporary employment sector. It offers labour-market-oriented training and guidance for agency workers and candidates. In addition, Travi supports staffing agencies with advice and tools, lowers the barriers to work and strengthens the position of agency workers in the labour market.
What was needed?
Travi already had two existing online applications: Trainyourtemps and Learn4Job. Through Trainyourtemps, staffing agencies could manage the training budget of agency workers in a clear overview. Learn4Job had a similar function, but for candidates – trainees who did not (yet) have an employer.
However, both existing applications had to be replaced, as they were reaching end of support.
What did Sirus do?
Because of the similar business processes, Sirus combined both applications into one overarching application. In doing so, we set up a new database and migrated the existing data into it. The familiar user interface of Trainyourtemps was retained so that the application remains recognizable for current users.
Sirus also carried out a few optimizations. For example, we made the platform more user-friendly and made it easier for users to import multiple files. While rewriting the application, we made sure to build a future-proof foundation.
Technicalities of the project
The application was built with Angular and .NET, using an Azure SQL database, Azure storage and Aspire. Everything is hosted on Azure, and user management is handled through Microsoft Entra.
What's next?
At the moment, Sirus continues to keep the application up and running and resolves any issues that arise. Several further optimizations to the platform are still possible, such as adding a clear dashboard with notifications regarding incomplete files.
