At Sirus we strive to work together with people who add a surplus to our company, but who can also be themselves and feel at home at Sirus. The Sirus team members are no all-rounders, but are experts in their own specific domain.
Background: Apart from a Master in Computer Science – specialization in numerical information – I obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration at Vlerick Business School. At Vlerick, the idea arose of starting a new company which specializes in Microsoft technology and with a specific focus on integration problems. After 6 years of working as an Enterprise Architect and another 6 years as a Microsoft responsible, I started this company in 2011.
I wanted to start a company with a boy-scouts-mentality. Quality over quantity was, and still is, my moto. I want teams working together and getting excited about creating the perfect solutions. I wanted a lean structure where people feel comfortable to take responsibility. Sirus is a knowledge-driven company, ready to launch into an innovative future.
In the future I want Sirus to continue to specialize in .NET & cloud development and architecture. We are seen as thought leaders and to maintain this we need to self-educate constantly. Smart Cities and Companies will continue to form the main focus, but in addition I want to write another chapter to our data story and further develop our data analytics skills. After all, qualitative information out of data will steer decision making even more in the future.
“His flexible mindset and head filled with creative and technical business knowledge”
Background: I studied Applied Computer Sciences, after which I worked at Kazou for five years as a staff member. There, I organized several training courses and learned a lot about project management and training employees to reach their full potential. Afterwards I returned to the IT world and started looking for small companies with a flat structure and an innovative mindset where human capital is key.
At Sirus we work with a broad and diverse audience. From Data and .NET to Opensource and Azure, we only work for interesting customers with challenging projects. In addition, Sirus’ mentality is that everyone in the company is important, all of our people. We have a work hard – play hard mentality and together we are building a smarter, cleaner and greener future.
Our people are the most important assets. Quantity before quality is our focus, but also people first. Sirus must remain an environment where our employees feel at home and where they can develop and grow.
I wish the team will grow together with the company. Not only in numbers, but more in their skills. And most importantly, we don’t want to lose our start-up mentality.
“His hands-on approach and organizational skills”
Background: After obtaining my Master’s degree in Trade & Commerce – Finance, I got a Master in General Management at Vlerick Business School. I worked for 5 years as an Account Manager in a large international company before I found my passion in IT.
I was looking for a smaller environment where I could work more closely with our customers. The challenging aspect of Gert’s Smart City ambitions immediately triggered my attention. My job at Sirus consists of finding new and challenging assignments for our employees, following up with our clients and discovering new IoT and Smart City opportunities. I simply just love the whirlwind of things coming my way. My job is varied and keeps me awake.
First of all, I want to continue walking the path we’re on right now. We have an amazing team with great people whom you can depend on. I want to continue to grow and gain more powerful knowledge so that our customers receive the best service. The Smart Cities of the future present a tremendously exciting challenge and I want to make sure we’re the first to jump on this train towards innovation.
“Her positive, energetic, go-for-it-mentality”
Background:I studied Applied Computer Sciences. Afterwards, I started working as a helpdesk system engineer in a large international company where I travelled across the world and gained tons of experience. Later, I worked as an IT Manager for 4 years and after further challenging jobs in Project and Office Management, I found a connection at Sirus.
At Sirus, I feel like I belong. The people working here all have a quirkiness and I love that. Everyone can be themselves here and that works. Micromanagement is a no-go here and I can let my inner nerd run freely and talk technology with everyone. The combination of IoT and new technologies which you can apply In everyday life makes this job really fulfilling. The human and innovative aspect allow me to feel at home. Furthermore, I feel like I can grow alongside the technology.
I want to continue to think about the growth of Sirus. Which people do we need? How do we achieve the perfect match between a client and one of our employees?
“She is a supermom. At home and at the workplace”
